Morgan Stanley has named a new head of wealth management technology as a top tech exec has joined several high-profile former colleagues at Rockefeller Capital Management.
The exit of several big European private banks, including Barclays, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse from the U.S. brokerage business has opened a gap in the market for high-end wealth management boutiques, says recruiter Mindy Diamond, president and founder of Diamond Consultants, who has done work for or engaged in conversations with both Morgan Stanley and Rockefeller.
“Rockefeller is kind of filling the hole,” Diamond says. “I think [Fleming’s] building the right model at the exact right time with the right name.”
