The stock market’s gyrations are adding a layer of complexity for financial advisers who are making a job change.
“The No. 1 fear any adviser has [during a job change] is ‘will the clients follow,’” said Mindy Diamond, president of Morristown, N.J.-based recruiter Diamond Consultants Inc. “If there’s a volatile market when an adviser’s going to move, it makes it scarier.”
UBS is increasing its recruiting efforts, offering top advisors deals of up to 550% of annual revenue while targeting experienced private bankers.
Advisors at some of the largest firms in the country are leaving, and not in a trickle. In 2024 alone, more than 9,600 experienced advisors changed firms, according to industry data from Diamond Consultants.
