Succeeding at the role of administrative assistant at a high-energy organization like Diamond Consultants is no easy task. It takes someone with a wide variety of skills and experience, and Laura fits the bill.
She spent her previous occupational lives as a paralegal, a bookkeeper for a small business and as a human resources administrator for a printing company. Yet, there’s one role she held that she’ll tell you about first…one that most people only dream of: as a chocolate taster at M&M Mars.
Sweet jokes aside, Laura attributes the chocolate tasting role as one that helped her define a greater attention to detail without losing focus on the big picture. Because without her discerning the good from the bad – and all of the flavor factors in between – consumers would not be happy with the finished product.
Administrative skills gleaned from her other roles – coupled with a happy voice and smile – helped to give Laura the edge in her front desk role. In addition to managing the day-to-day work, she’s also hands-on in the social media and marketing efforts of the firm.
Off the clock, she’s a volunteer soccer coach who enjoys time with her family, gardening, cooking and the beach.
