Another billion-dollar-plus team has joined Sanctuary Wealth from UBS.
Sanctuary on Friday revealed an Orange County, Calif.-based wealth team led by advisors Jim Chiate and Tony Guinane has joined the firm. The UBS veterans have set up a practice known as Dial Square Private Wealth, managing about $1.2bn in total client assets, according to Sanctuary.
They were formerly part of a Los Angeles-area practice called Wise River Advisors, which was affiliated with UBS Private Wealth Management. Both Chiate and Guinane held the title of senior vice president. Forbes reported in late 2023 that the practice had $6bn in custodied assets.
Chiate and Guinane were part of a large wealth team focused on ultra-high net worth clients that joined UBS from Merrill Lynch in late 2013, when the team managed about $3bn. Advisors in their practice were spread throughout the Los Angeles area, with Chiate and Guinane working out of Irvine, in central Orange County.
