Cathy Nichols

Cathy joined Diamond Consultants in 2002 as the firm’s first recruiter, drawn to the entrepreneurial spirit of a young and growing organization. With more than two decades of experience in advisor recruiting, she brings a deep understanding of the wealth management space and a commitment to helping advisors make informed, intentional decisions about their futures.

Her work spans transitions from wirehouses, regional firms, boutiques, and independent wealth management businesses, including those with complex models. Cathy is known for offering fresh perspectives and thoughtful guidance—often helping advisors see options they may not have considered on their own. She leads with honesty and authenticity, guided by the belief in treating people the way she would want to be treated. With deep industry knowledge and a strong ability to listen and respond as a fiduciary, Cathy builds relationships rooted in trust, personal connection, and sound guidance. She approaches each conversation with empathy and discretion, committed to creating a space where advisors feel understood, supported, and never pressured.

Before joining the recruiting industry, Cathy held leadership roles in the biomedical and healthcare sectors. As an administrator for Shriners Hospitals for Children, she developed and implemented a system-wide materials management program. She also served as Director of Purchasing at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, where she honed her business, operational, and contract negotiation skills.

A graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction, Cathy is also a dedicated community activist and successful fundraiser. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, visiting museums, reading, and gourmet cooking. She also practices Aikido and owns and operates a dojo.
