Advisor recruiting business Diamond Consultants is rolling out a new division aimed at helping wealth managers hire executives.
The Morristown, N.J. based company officially launched its executive search business on January 6, Diamond Consultants president Louis Diamond told Citywire. Diamond will co-lead the business unit alongside Jamie Campbell, a longtime executive search professional, focused on the accounting industry.
Campbell joined Diamond Consultants in January after a nine-month stint of self-employment, according to her LinkedIn profile. She is best known in the professional services industry for a near-eight-year spell as the executive search head for the US division of multinational accounting firm Baker Tilly.
Diamond said Diamond Consultants launched the new executive search division in response to demand from its advisor clients. He said Diamond Consultants typically launches 20 advisory practices per year, many of which ask for ongoing support after finding their new homes.
‘We saw an opportunity to support all of our various client relationships in a different way. We’re kind of just responding to opportunities,’ Diamond said. ‘We’ve always had a lot of firms reach out to us through our marketing efforts and our reputation and through all the work we do on the advisor recruiting side for firms, asking for help in finding top talent beyond just advisors with books of business.’
Diamond said the executive search line will help clients find C-suite executives, investment professionals, advisors with non-portable books of business and corporate development officers, among other types of employees. He added that he would like the unit to work on no more than four client engagements at once.
‘From a volume standpoint, RIAs are definitely going to be a focus,’ Diamond said. ‘Because RIAs tend to need more of these types of roles and RIAs are the fastest-growing segment of the industry.’
