Two Merrill Lynch teams who managed nearly $2 billion billion in assets combined have abandoned the thundering herd in Iowa and Oklahoma.
In the larger of the moves, a duo managing $1.2 billion in assets joined Stifel, Nicolaus & Co. in Des Moines, Iowa, according to a spokesperson for the firm. The group, which moved on Tuesday, includes Merrill lifers Grant Clark and Mark Malone as well as client associates Sara O’Brien and Lyndsi Truka.
Separately, LPL Financial added a Merrill team with $705 million in assets in Oklahoma City. Alain R. Vehille and James S. Wood joined LPL’s nascent private wealth channel.
They moved on May 16 along with client associates Erikka Moore and Kathy Isernhagen, according to the announcement.
Verhille and Wood had joined Merrill in 2007 from Morgan Stanley. Verhille started his career at Northwestern Mutual in 1998, while Wood began at Morgan Stanley in 1998, according to BrokerCheck.
