Raymond James Financial hired a top-ranked advisor team from rival firm Baird, adding to a spate of hires at the brokerage firm over the past year.
Advisors Greg Smith and Simon Hamilton were ranked among Barron’s Top 1,200 Advisors for 2022 and had $2.8 billion in combined assets as of Sept. 30, 2021. They registered with Raymond James & Associates, the company’s employee broker-dealer, on Sept. 19, according to BrokerCheck, a public database maintained by industry self-regulator Finra.
Smith and Hamilton’s team is one of the largest recent hires at Raymond James, according to Raymond James’ news announcements.
A spokeswoman for Baird was unavailable for immediate comment. A Raymond James spokesman also declined to comment.
