UBS Loses $850 Million Advisor Team to Sanctuary Wealth

A UBS advisor team led by two industry veterans has parted ways with the wirehouse to open their own independent practice with Sanctuary Wealth.

The Paramus, N.J.-based team, which goes by Questar Capital, managed $850 million in client assets while at UBS, according to Sanctuary. The group is the latest to leave a big brokerage firm for Sanctuary and the third in New Jersey to join the fast-growing firm.

Like the Questar advisors, Sanctuary’s leaders also migrated from large financial services firm to the independent advisor sector. CEO Jim Dickson is a former Merrill Lynch executive and spent roughly two decades at the wirehouse. Vince Fertitta, president of Sanctuary, is also a former Merrill Lynch and Bank of America executive.
